Moorings
1. Bramerton Parish Council has four berths for all-year-round mooring of boats on the River Yare at Bramerton Common.

2. These moorings are primarily for parishioners of Bramerton and anyone living in the village may apply to moor their boat at one of these berths.

3. Boats moored here must be no longer than 25 feet, including any bowsprit, davits or other gear.

4. Once a Bramerton resident is allocated a berth and s/he complies with the terms of the Bramerton Parish Council Mooring Agreement s/he may continue to use the Mooring until they move out of the parish.

5. If and when all the berths are taken the Parish Clerk will maintain a waiting list of parishioners who wish to lease a mooring. This list will be in the order that individual parishioners express their interest in renting a mooring.

6. If a mooring becomes vacant and there are no parishioners on the waiting list the following procedure will apply:
i. the mooring will be advertised to Bramerton residents for 28 days on the village website, on The Common and elsewhere in the village;
ii. if after this the mooring remains vacant it will be advertised as available to residents of Kirby Be-don, Rockland St Mary and Surlingham for a further period of 28 days;
iii. if after this the mooring remains vacant it will be advertised as available to all comers.

7. If a mooring is let to a non-resident under 6ii or 6iii above it will be for a fixed term until 31st March immediately following the signing of the Agreement by the non-resident. If between signing the Agreement and before the following 31st December a resident of Bramerton adds his/her name to the waiting list the Agreement with the non-resident will end on 31st March, otherwise the non-resident’s Agreement may be renewed for a further 12 months.

8. The base charge for a parishioner mooring is set each year by BPC. (For 2024/25 the fee is £225.) For residents of Kirby Bedon, Rockland St Mary and Surlingham the charge is the base figure + 50%; for those living beyond these parishes the charge is the base figure x 2.
