Welcome to Bramerton Parish Council Website

This site has been created by the Parish Council to allow us to connect with the people living and working in our village.  You can read more about what the Parish Council does here, and you can contact the Parish Council about any local Bramerton issues.

Bramerton Parish Council works together with South Norfolk Council, Norfolk County Council and The Broads Authority to ensure local facilities are well maintained.  Our main responsibility is the regular maintenance of parish land at Bramerton Common beside the River Yare (including a Site of Special Scientific Interest); the recreation ground, pond and children’s play area next to the Village Hall on Easthill Lane; the allotments on Hill House Road and the village pond on The Street.  We are also responsible for the maintenance of the bus shelter on Kirby Bedon Road and the (now disused) telephone box in The Street.

The Parish Council meets regularly in Bramerton Village Hall and parishioners are always welcome to attend meetings.  You can find information about forthcoming meetings, by clicking here Meetings.  Copies of minutes and agendas are also posted on the village noticeboards – one at the southern end of The Street and the other in Easthill Lane.

Parish Council request not to remove felled logs located at village pond (Recreation Ground)

The Parish Council politely requests that the logs situated around the pond located at the Recreation Ground are not removed.  The willow logs have been removed from the floor of the pond which has been affected by the invasive weed Crassula helmsii. Therefore, there is a risk that the logs may carry roots, seeds etc. from this weed. This weed is so virulent that even a small piece of the weed can quickly lead to Crassula becoming well established in a pond. It is easily carried on footwear or the paws of animals. Over the past 3 years we have been treating the pond to remove this weed and this programme of extermination is now complete. However, the contractors have advised that we should make two further treatments of the pond in 2023 when we will also treat the logs.
